#1 ryans 1200 ute build
ryans1200 Posted on: 2009/1/14 3:32
hi, as some of you know, i am 12yrs old an my family bought me a 1200 ute to do up for when i get my license,

the car has been stored for the last 12months as we have had no where to put it,

below are some pics of the ute and as you can see, it needs alot of work,

some 1 has welded dodgy floor and sill panels on, these will be replaced.

we have another 2 ues which we will get parts from and make another ute as sort of a practice run for the real thing.

plans for the ute i will be keeping include, r31 skyline diff and brakes, new suspension , full respray and interior retrim and a set of mags, and a new tray bed.

the engin will remain basically std, it was fully rebuilt around 20,000k's ago and seems to run really well, we have a 32/36 webber which came with the other utes, so we will put this on and maybe a set of extractors, then when i get some driving experience will upgrade then.

as we still have 4 yrs to build the ute, it will be a slow thread, but hopefull we can do a bit every now and then and will keep it updated as we go.

ryan

good stuff young fella.
good to see you have got an early start on it and you should have a ton of fun building it up with your oldies.
more young blokes should be doing this instead of breaking into cars and houses.

you better start saving your penny's,

they aren't a cheap rebuild......... in saying that depends on what you are going to do,

i see you say R31 skyline diff!!!, thats $800-1000 just there to be shorten,

goodluck with the build

sounds likea good plan for a first car id think again bout the r31 diff i felt with my ca18det that it was robbing an amount of power good luck to any a series trying to overcome this good luck anyways.

im with kegs on the diff, r31 diff is way too big for an NA A series
the stock diff will hold up to plenty of punishment and r31 rear brakes can be adapted rather easily
