I have done something similar. For ignition I used an MSD and the guts from a Ford 2.3L distributor adapted into the Nissan distributor. Doesn't provide for advance, the timing is just fixed but it seems to be working fine. The MSD actually retards a bit while starting so you can have a reasonable timing lead and still get the car to start.

For my KA24DE non fuel injected, I had a guy build me a distributor. I gave him the original KA and a new Chevy V8 MSD. Combined the two and it works like a champ. Using a MSD Street Fire Ignition box as well.

I am using the same dizzy with a digital 6 msd box! it will provide all the advance and retard plus rev limit and all i need!
It features'''
Switch between two rev limits that adjust with rotary switches in 100 RPM increments
Single-stage retard for nitrous and top end performance
Start retard eases pressure on the starter, flywheel, and engine
Adjustable magnetic pickup compensation produces accurate trigger signals
LED display warns of trigger signal problems or faulty charging system
Fully potted with polyurethane for vibration and water protection

Because photobucket "IMG" link does not work here.

Get the photobucket "Direct" link, then on here click "Reply" (not fast reply), click the Image button.
