Hey guys i realise these arent the best photos but im wondering if anyone can help me identify what this ca18det would have come out of, i have an oportunity to pick it up cheap with 123k on her and ca18 gearbox and 3 inch exhaust to suit 1200 as a package.. can anyone shed any light on it for me? or is there a model number somewhere on the block etc that would identify it?
thanks in advance for any input :) Attach file: IMG_1378.jpg (12.69 KB)![]() IMG_1522.jpg (12.90 KB)![]() IMG_3093.jpg (15.03 KB)![]() IMG_3438.jpg (21.84 KB)![]() IMG_3548.jpg (16.18 KB)![]()

after reading the wiki etc i beleive your right. i think ill grab it and hope the internals are pretty good, he wants a $1000 for engine with manual ecu, full harness, 3 inch exhaust "mild steel" to suit 1200 and ca18 gearbox (which i believe i can use to modify a stumpy if i can find one to use, being a ute i wanted to try and keep the shifter as far forward as i can. fingers crossed i guess :)

Yeah that's sounds like a great price for the drivetrain package (assuming the motor is all good). Is the loom already modified for use in a 1200?
Are you looking at getting this all engineered or just crossing your fingers and hoping you never get pulled up by the boys in blue?

As you're at Rouse Hill you should go out & speak to Stuart Wilkins at SWMotorsport in Mulgrove, he has conversion kits & has a long history in motorsport & modifying cars. Also, I've got a stumpy box with a ca18 front, if you could find a standard stumpy 5 speed I could swap with you, so I don't have to separate the gearbox. I've also got a CA18 I picked up as scrap, it could be useful as spares. No turbo or manifolding, unfortumeately. PM me if your interested.
