kickdown solinoid

ok i have a datsun 120y motor & a automatic box in a beach buggy, the kickdown is not wired up so it wont change down properly, is there any ways of wiring it up so it will work ?

yeah it just sits near the accelerator pedal, when the pedal is on the floor it hits the switch which tells the gbox to change down

yah ive worked that out but what im asking is there a way of hooking it up as all a have is the switch & the solinoid in the gearbox. does it need a power supply through the swith to activate the solinoid to make it work ?
