I was thinking of head work to be done and came across the exhaust port.
On A series heads what does the exhaust port benefit from...
1. Opening the square outlet and making it bigger 2. Opening up/unshrouding the valve stem 3. Both
To me it seems that opening the square outlet wont gain much as the stock manifold and tube extractors flow about the same (same cross sectional area) as the stock port size...so I think that unshrouding the valve stem area is the key thing to address when porting the exhaust.
What do you guys think?
