hey, i would be interested in a kit, would you need to upgrade anything else on the engine, thanks Jake

when im finished(no idea when) it will be aplicable to nearly any A-series engine. i will make the kit to work best on a stock datsun a14. however the kit will be replacing the exhaust and probly the intake manifolds. i may make one for the stock a-14 manifold. i am planing on using a manifold for a single dcoe side draft carb.

yeah i picked up my t25 turbo for $250au so they are cheap, and roughly the right size as they are off a 1.8L. are u in Aus? if so obtaining one of these turbo's is really easy, if u are overseas however u might need to get one shipped to u, im not experienced with this though.

How bout you just start off making exhaust manifolds for the A series engine, for the smaller A12's and larger bros A14/15's first? And utilizing the Garrett T25 for matching up the flange to the manifold?

This would be the simplest way first surley then worrying bout the carburetion sides of things. Which leads me to my next question, is this suck thru or draw thru setups? Will it be using the stock inlet manifold?

I think you better set your boundaries before embarking on any project. Knowing what you/customer wants would be beneficial before starting the fabrication side of things.

set my boudries? im sorry dave. but i dont have any boundaries. especially when it comes to making a performance product that my name will be on. i am a datto fanatic as are most people on the forum, so im pretty sure that if i like it and its runs good on my car than other people(ie, other datto fans) will most certainly think my product will suit them. i have my full designs already rendered in autodesk inventor(cad 3d) for use with sevral different turbo systems. the only problem i face is which turbo to go with. thanks for the advice but no thanks. ill do it my way.

You can't go wrong with using a T2 flange on the manifold. These days there are so many turbos that will bolt to a T2 flange your options are endless.

The other benefit is that, of the nissan/garrett range, the smallest turbos have a T2 flange. For applications like an A12, even a turbo like the T2 from the E15 would be sufficient. And then for the people who are looking for big power from their A series (gearbox permitting) the T28 ball bearing from the S15 would have no trouble keeping up.

Anybody who has a daily driver with a turbo on it will agree that there is no point having a big laggy turbo. You want good response which means choosing the smallest turbo that can keep up with your maximum flow demands.

I reckon for the sake of trying to keep the kit on the cheap side the CA18 T25 would be the best combination.

For you do be running an intercooler it would mean that you would have to be using a blow through setup am I right?

as far as what turbo i have decided and what flange you are right on the money daveman. however i will be making a intersooler and a non inter cooler setup. however i excpect the intercooled setup to be more efficient and more popular.

I would also expect the intercooled version to be more efficient but only if you are making a blow through or fuel injected setup!

If you are planning on intercooling a draw through setup you should probably think again.

not burning gasoline at least. but who wants a big thing full of pressurized air and fuel anyways, that's just an accident waiting to happen.

obviously, the intercooled ones are efi

it would include both manifolds, intercooler, intercooler lines, oil lines, extrenal oil cooler kit, and turbo charger. i have a design that utilizes a side draft webber carb, but i havent transfered it over to auto cad 3d yet.

You better clear this up then with your designer!
