Hey guys Im having issues with my a14t again and i wana give it a service befor i take it to a tune shop (just plugs, leads points, oil ect) and I was wondering what spark plugs people are using on their a series turbo engines?????? when I installed the engine the plugs were changed but we didnt have the same plugs so we used something similar but now I cant remember what was on the original setup so if someone could please disclose their top secret tuning info on what plugs and gaps that would be much appriciated. A PM is fine if you dont want the top secret info to be advertised lol

Cheers all

I'm running BP7ES plugs in my S/C A15. With a motor that will see some furious use, it pays to drop a few heat ranges. (BP5ES is standard)
I use Denso plugs. They are cheap as, and very reliable.

They wont foul, but I think it'd be less than ideal. A too hot plug might encourage detonation.

I talked the other day to Minnesh.
I think we all know who it is.

This was before the dyno run.
He said I must run BP8ES. As I understand the higher the number of the plug the colder it goes and the longer the plug "reaches" into the combustion chamber.
As you all know, My car is the A12GX. The GX has higher compresion pistons and also a comp of 10:1.
Will the plugs not be too cold for this setup and also will it not possibly be too close to the pistons when coming up? Causing maybe pinging or maybe even hitting or touching the pistons?
What are the pro and cons of putting a colder plug into a engine than specified in the manual.

Sorry for hijacking this. But it is sparkplug related.

BPR5EIX, 1.1mm gap NA with Electronic ignition, or 0.9mm gap turbo/supercharged/NA with contacts.

The number relates to the temperature.

[snip to avoid confusion] <- Just did a bit of a search, each manufacturer has a different system. For NGK at least, the higher the number, the lower the temperature. If you go too low you will suffer from premature fouling as the plug can't "burn-off" the contaminants.
