Very well put. If your not doing it for the love of it than what are you doing? I will continue to improve my car and enjoy it. I have owned my 1200 for 28 years and will not sell it!

I have to agree with Dattoman 1000, I build them for myself and no one else, if I didnt make mistakes and make changes along the way it would be a lot cheaper, it would cost a lot less to do them a second time.

Yes has been worth it. When you inspire inspriation in others to do thier dattos, get all the good comments and looks and thumbs and waves. Not to mention the fun of driving and enjoying the datsun!...

Yes there are times when you get the stinks with it, but those moments are short lived compared to the long lived enjoyment ....

heck yes its been worth it, and its worth alot more in the verry near future and the distant future. the way i see it, an old car with modern technology is way better than a new car . only becuase as everyone knows "they dont build them like they used too" my 78 datsun B-210 is WAY sturdier than ANY car that on the market now. and i can add almost any form of technology to it i want. plus, my b210 not only is EXTREEMLY rare where i live(my town and state) but it is also a verry well built rear wheel drive car that is a ton of fun to drive. it was my first car and i hope i die with it running stil. i want my car to be built so well that it outlasts me. theres no point in spending 30,000+ $$ on a car that will only last 10 or less years.n

Go the long term projects.
I bought my 'other' coupe in 1968 & it will be with me to the end. I'm still gathering parts for it & I am pi***d off with the Australian Customs who recently sent about $1,200[US] worth of hemi engine parts back to the US without notifying me. I will probably have to pay the freight back there then back here again just so I can have the privelige of paying import duty & BST [blood sucking tax] on it.

The things we do for love.
