280zx turbo brakes and coilovers are a good upgrade. I say that, because it can be done with relatively little mods. I've seen some really scary adaptors for wilwood brakes, there's no reason that it takes anymore than a flat steel adaptor. the coilover conversion is pretty simple, then get the 5 position adjustable tokiko struts.

you need 3/8" spacers to fit 280zx non-turbo 14" wheels, but I think the turbo wheels might not need a spacer. You could get wheels with the correct offset and that would work too.

look to spend close to $2000 for everything.

get poly bushings too. expect to spend maybe $300 on those.

I have 200# springs stock would be 90# It really feels nice on good roads. Around my home the roads are crap and it's a little rough, but once i leave my impoverished state and go somewhere where the roads are maintained it's perfect.

I just went to nevada. went 80+mph in passes 8300 ft. but i burn lpg and your results will be different :)

A15 all the way mate, i have an a15 with:
30/70 cam
32/36 weber
lightened flywheel
performance clutch
extractors
Also i have took the engine fan of
I am very impressed with the results, although i must admit after about a yr and a half i am itching 4 more go so am on the hunt 4 twin webers. You wont regret getting an A15 but. truly worth it. Great power for such a msall engine. the set up i am running now blows non turbo VL's away and there the only ones who seem 2 wanna drag me of the lights Sorry 2 hijack the thread but i also have a question relating 2 a15 power. wats this thing i hear about getting the distributor recurved or something,i think thats right, is there any major advantage 2 this??

Make it stop first, then handle second as mentioned.

Then "boost" is the way for budget hp.

A15 with single mazda rx7 series 4/5 turbo or cheap to25 or to3, water injection and a single 2 or 2.1/4 inch SU. (later can go straight gas and intercooler)
Inlet manifold mods and exhaust manifold should set you back 500-600 dollars turbo 250 and su $100. Water injection should be cheap if you make your own and decomping the a15 can be done with an open chamber head or custom decompression plate with custom copper gaskets which can be reused.
for under 1.5k you should have a the double the torque of an a15 if you assemble it yourself.

I've never driven a SR or CA powered 1200 so i am slightly biased when i say the A series is the best bang for bucks.

This is my A14's spec's.

A15 Block bored 120 thou, Flat top forged pistons, A14 Crank, 12:1 compression, cut down 1600 valves, double valve springs, 58/91 Wade cam, Electronic dizzy, twin 45's, Max ports, light flywheel

The engine is a JTS built monster. It used to be in Andrew Denisses' 1200 (CA18DET_man) years ago before the monster CA conversion. Its pretty wild!!

Either way - your still going to spend heaps of cash. A serious A series is just easier.

Does this mean that we now have three Canadian Datsun 1000's in our club.
