why not try some of the small commercial vehicles, like a suzuki carry.lots of room to fit a large engine.i was out at wsid to see the american top fuellers & they had a small ute like this with a holden 6 cylinder that came out to entertain the crowd during an oil down,& it churned out the smoke.got all 4 rear tyres to blow,as it had duel rear wheels.was driven by ahmet the mad turk,a well known sydney identity in the burnout comps.looked awesome.

p.s during the cleanup, they set the vht they were spraying on the hot track alight,at one stage for almost an 1/8 of a mile.now that was a truly amazing sight.

hah, mini moke
there was a red one of them at avalon with a 302 windsor in it, looked really cool with a surfboard on the top and a 17 inch mag as the spare

also won the burnout comp, so u could say it made a bit of smoke

also could lock up the front wheels seperatly so it did nice donuts

Datsun 1000 two door sedan is about the lightest RWD car I know of at 660kg.

This is what I am thinking: one of these:

it costs about 500 bucks

with a holden 308 and 3spd in the back. No rear suspension, the holden diff welded straight to some mounts to the chassis. Also no drive shaft, the gearbox straight to the diff. I reckon you could do it for about a grand.

EDIT: I almost forgot, you would have to get rid of the rear brakes and exhaust pipes... im thinking twin stacks through the roof
