hey all, just had my 120y a12, fully reconitioned, and i dont know why but the lads had a little play with my carb and set the idol adjust screw up to over rev
as for the mixture control, well off, does anyone know a easy way to get the mixture back to the right point

You can use a vacuum guage to set the idle mixture.
Leave the idle running just a bit faster than stock for a couple of thousand K's untill the engine starts to free up a bit. This helps to keep the fan & water pump spinning freely & this helps keep the oil spraying around inside & helps to reduce the loads on a fresh cam. [if fitted]

If you get yourself a workshop manual, it will show you how to do all the adjustments properly, & in the right order.

well, a super easy way would be to,
turn the idle up to about 1500 rpm
turn mix. screw slow in til idle starts to drop
turn mix. screw slow out til idle rises
split the difference, should be perfect!

I wouldnt worry about keeping the revs up. If a fresh engine has too low an oil pressure at idle speed - than something wrong.
As for coolant - it can only circulate when the thermostat is open.
If the engine gets hot at idle - the radiator isnt exactly good enough to keep it cool anywhere above idle.
