I will keep that in mind im sure the diff in my ute will go after the car is running again not sure if it will hold up to an sr20 but will have to wait and see.

can you modify the whole blue bird diff to fit in? as the TRX i had had rear disks im sure that would be a straight forward replacement after modifing the axels

IM not 100% sure, see i didnt build my ute myself the old mans dad is the mechanical wiz in the family and he did majority of the work!! im only a first year but im learning fast!! my diff is a h165 8 bolt with drum brakes off of an early model datsun bluebird if that helps u out!!
My next would be to get my hands on a trx slippery and see wat if i can make that fit!!

the TRX discs over drums, bolt to the H165 diff but then you dont have the advantage of LSD, the H165 is strong enough to handle NA SR20 but for turbo SR20 your prob going to have to go borg warner with LSD or similar yeah?

Do you have a pair of Bluebird rear axle shafts with the whole disc brake setup on them & you plan to install this straight into your 1200 ute rear axle housing?
This is where it falls apart.
The Bluebird axle shafts are quite a bit longer than the 1200 ute ones, so you will need to remove all four wheel bearings & remove all the brakes. Then you assemble the disc brake back plates to the ute axle shafts & install new bearings & collars. This will allow it all to bolt up.

Next, I hope that you got the brackets that support the inner end of the rubber hoses that are attached to the calipers as this will make it easier to duplicate the original Bluebird setup, & you will need to duplicate it.
You must NOT run steel tubing direct to these floating calipers as you risk cracking of the pipe, & loss of rear brakes.[It's also illegal]
The hand brake cables from the Bluebird will probably be too long, but you should be able to make your original ute ones work without too much trouble.

Good luck.

If all you want is an H165 LSD, then read this thread. It sounds like a bargain to me for a custom made H165 LSD
