hey guys,

just wondering if anyone knows how sturdy the 1200 ute axles are? I'll be locking the diff on my 1980 1200 ute, and wanted to know if they are strong enough to handle a ca18det running standard boost? any ideas?
thanks guys

with a CA18DET if you treat your diff nicley......(dont side step the clutch at 7000rpm ) they are strong enough to handle the torque. but abuse will snap them! my brother still has the H165 with his SR20DET (more torque) but ill let you know when not if he snaps it.

i broke 4 locked ute diffs and a number of axles. However i do drive it the way they should be driven - pretty hard. Treat it nice and it could last a while, but nothing is gaurenteed.
