I've got a single sidedraught round port manifold (suits A12) AND a dellorto DHLA40 if you're interested.

I'm happy to pack it up and ship it to the US. PM me.

That's the Warneford single-sidedraft manifold (both Denuto's and DatRat's).

i'm thinking that a single 40 would serve the car much better then dual 40's due to the small displacement. Right??

It depends what you are requiring from your motor and what work has been done to it. A standard A series will run just fine on a correctly jetted set of twin 40's but to really experience their potential you need exhaust, cam and head mods.

airflow is about the same, since a single feeds all four cylinders whereas the doubles feed individual cylinders.

In other words, dual 40s is not "too big", not really any different from a single as far as CFM goes.

For overall driveability, ease of tuning, & cost effectiveness, the single carb is probably the better choice.
If you have a left drive model, then it is also the practical choice.

If you just want to impress your mates, or if you have a 'balls to the wall' engine, then twins will do it.

The two biggest mistakes that most home tuners make to their street cars is to over cam & over carb their engines.
