OK Matt I better clarify here:

I use the intermediate group as a referance because

A. With the normal well fed American passenger the car tips the scales at 2100lbs (950KG).

B. I have 20 years of road racing experiance and by track day standards I drive very aggressive even in the advanced group (er OK by road race standards I drive aggressive)

C. I do not drive as aggressive with a passenger considering they are not always wearing nomex and a HANS Device but I'm still driving 90% which is 105% by track day standards. (I generally do this for the super cocky guy who thinks he is going fast and needs a dose of reality to keep him in control)

So basiclly a street guy without racing experiance in a 85-95 HP 1200 has a very capable sports car.

I hear you about side draught webers , if you go to Willow Springs or depending on the layout at Button Willow you'll need every bit of power you can get. Fortunately for me I run on a 3.1 mile 18 turn road course so it's kind of like the Streets of Willow track. What I'm looking for out of my A14 is to stay with Spec Miatas that slowly walk away down the straights. I will eventually go to the dual webers but I need to move the brake master so it's at least 2 years away , so in the meantime the GX carbs will do. If it were a street car I personally wouldn't bother with anything more than a standard A12GX or A14GX.

Finally to save face for my little car a friend in his Porsche Boxter did have to wave me past in the advance group at our spring event......boy did he get taunted at lunch (not that we're the petty sort of people to rub it in)
