Sunny_Coupe110, I went to your page and all the writing comes up as question marks, like this ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If you can use a font my system can deal with, that might be better.

It will look all question marks until you stick the Japanese font on in your Windows Installation - it can be done without re-installing windows. I belive it is in the Add/Remove programs icon - then Windows components.

You still wont be able to read it but at least it will display the way it is meant to.

Arigato.

Hi guys,

For information about configuring Windows to view Japanese fonts, see our tech section article: Yahoo Auctions Japan

Machine translation can be used here too it is my favorite: www.http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en. You can look up each word, sentence or paragraph, or put in a an http URL and it will attempt to translate the whole page.

I got in. The registration link is at top left corner. The three boxes under "Login" are:
- username
- password
- login button
followed by:
- link for lost password
- link to Register

You can look up each word for the registration options, but they are in order:
1. username
2. email address
[ ] release mail address
3. home page
4. Time zone
5. password
6. password (again, to verify)
7. Notify me by email
[ ] yes [ ] ???
8. legal disclaimer
9. [ ] I agree to the above-mentioned item
10. Click button

Then it sends email to you, which must be responded to to complete the account. The email showed up in my Bulk/Junk Mail folder, so watch for it. The encoding of the email message was messed up (just got lots of garbled letters, sunny_coupe110: maybe it is not sending UTF-8 format?), but in any case, just click the link in the message to complete the registration. After this I was able to login.

Hi ddgonzal-san
okaerinasai !
We wish to express our gratitude for explaining in detail.
I was going to quote it on my web site.
I do not understand the setting of UTF-8.
It seems to be unquestionable for the setting of Japan.

Yes, web pages can be marked for the language. For example, this page has this in it:Quote:
. That specifies what the font should be. Japanese pages usually are Unicode (UTF-8) or one of the Japanese (JIS) encodings.

If the web page designer forgets to do that, the page will be displayed in the default font.

To force the web browser to use Japanese: On the View menu, click Encoding, then click Japanese (auto select).
