If I remember rightly, utes were available, at additional cost, with such luxury options as.......
left side sun visor,
heater,
two speed wipers,
a radio,
cigarette lighter,
windscreen washers,
seat belts,
low tone horn.
dash-top mounted clock.
Fog lights.

A door mounted weathershield , external sunvisor, & spats would be accessory items

Chromed bumper, DeLuxe model over-riders, chrome headlight trims, sedan or coupe model grille & wheel covers from any Datsun 1000 model, would have been 'dealer installed' options.
The utter height of decadance says I.

Ahhh yes, plenty of scope to build a show pony from a humble workhorse, & I'm looking forward to seeing this one.

B20, the ute you always wanted.

Hey fellow 1000 lovers

just tried to take some photos but its too dark. The lowering cost me absolutely nothing all i had to do was source a 1200 ute rear leaf and with some advice from fellow members down she went. rides fine, not on the bumpstops at the rear (after a little cut) my only issues are minor scraping of my new wheel and tyre package.

pics up tomorrow.

Well it really looks like a grandma original with saggy springs. Those wheels & tyres will enhance winter safety at minimal cost & should not attract the 'man'
All you need to do now is shop at the op-shop for suitable clothes, wear a hat with droopy brim & thick glasses, drive like you have oldtimers disease, & no one will come near you,.... grandpa.
A battered bowls bag on the rear parcel shelf & an RSL sticker on the back window will make it perfect.

Lookin' good mate.
B10, the car you always wanted.

on the free lowering...

datsun leaf sprung sedan's and coupe's have three leaves, wagons and utes have an extra one additional to these that is very thick. all i did was remove the two leaves that weren't the main leaf and added the leaf from a 1200 ute. the 1200 ute thick leaf is the same thickness as the two i removed just that it is flat rather than bowed. had to cut half the bumpstop off to ensure a nice smooth ride

the front i just cut the bump stops clean off and removed 5ish mm from the end of the leaf and bob's your uncle.

rides nice and smoothly still, no spine compressing done at all. both of these tricks came from mopar. negative camber is coming for the front soon.

DM: i have kept the uniting church sticker on the passenger side window and the 25 years membership RACV sticker on the rear windscreen.

now about that CA sitting in my garage...

No no no, [smacking Lagwagons wrist] what did we say about distractions?
Aren't you going to do a number on that bigger car first? What happened when you were distracted with all those other projects before? Yes, you remember.
