I need to fit a thermo fan to my 1970 Gemini SL radiator ( i knew holdens were good for something ) and was thinking what size and brand?
I mite stretch out a bit and buy a davies craig but what size? Would 8" suffice for the job?

Oh, btw its cooling a mildly worked A15..

Are they hard to wire up also?

Cheers!
Dave

I was thinking a 10" but not sure if it would be better to use a smaller one as theres not too much room in the 1200 engine bay...
What difference in price are they usually? So does superpov sell a different/cheaper brand then?
And im guessing custom mounts are needed for them as im sure they wouldnt sell universal mounts would they?

Mite go investigating tommrow.. Im not whipped by the woman this weekend so its car time

Cheers guys
Dave

I'm fitting a camry radiator in mine, is narrow and comes with 2 thermos. It looks like it should fit, i'll post up some pics when the projects complete.

Cheers,
Richard

I run/ran a 10" or 12", cant remember which on my gemini radiator, but ran it infront of the radiator as there wasnt enough room behind. It had an aircon pulley on which is longer and hit the fan. Easy to mount infront too. Just bought the auto switch from Repco wired it up. Was great.

this is what i've got set up in my sedan .... i've run with both the stock radiator and a pulsar 1.6l one. The fans out of a N13 pulsar, cost was $25 and a thermal switch thing (davies craig) was $55 and a relay $5 was all it cost. you can read about it here and here

my only real advice .... don't use any mounting system that goes thru the radiator fins with little rubber bush thingys on either side of the radiator - guaranteed to wear thru the radiator and let go at the worst possible time

OK boss, Yeah that will make it work, but how to make it stop? Maybe you need to rethink your answer.

I think he really means ignition. Hope so anyway. Also when wiring it in be sure to use a relay other wise the fan wont get full power and it will put extra load on the ignition circuit.
