webers are fidily complicated pieces of machinery but when tuned nicely will offer a great deal of improvement in performance and when combined with a nice cam and headers they often work together to give you an even greater power output.look what im trying to say is if this person tunes them right they should be well worth your money.

If they are set up right they will be good.
I spoke to a guy who broughta 2litre mustang back celica brand new in 1977. He had the dealer put twin webbers on then. He has barely touched them since,
that's good enough for me.

Had a set (pair) of 40DHLA Del Orreto carbs on an A12. I think that these are very similar to Webers. Raced this car for 4 years, let it sit for 3 and put it back on the track and it still ran beautifully. The only adjustments that were required, re-jetting when going from high altitude to near sea level. Oh, I think I checked the float level one time also.
While getting the venturi diameter and overall sizing right is important, if you have too small a carb it will just limit your top end, make sure that you get the air corrector and main jet right for proper off idle and mid range performance. You may have to play with it a bit. This is why guys who race them have a box full of jets.

The simple fact is that these things need to be correctly tuned & you need quality linkages that won't slip. Once everything is as it should be, you will not need to touch them again unless you change something major. [like moving from Death Valley to Nepal] Jets don't wear or go out of adjustment & as long as the carbs stay in synch, you will get many years of happy motoring.
Use them untuned, or with second rate components, & you may well rue the day you ever saw them.

Spend whatever it takes to get them right, & we'll hear you singing their praises from miles away.
