Ive broken about 3sets of engine mounts. It always felt rougher, yes even at idle. A lumpy cam didnt help either. If you think about it. Even with a broken mount the same forces are still been applied to the body. Its still attached right? Its not hovering or spinning on its own axis.

Mine felt rough with broken mounts as each time it lumped over it would slighty lift the broken mount and come back down with more force than before. Rather than the energy been spread out on the lift and drop all energy is been put into the drop of the mount.

You must have a very torquey motor for it to do that at idle. But then when you think about it you have broken sets of mounts.
I have only ever broken left side mounts. I have gotten some good bruises from the gearstick whacking me in the leg when a mount has snapped from a walk off the clutch. Never managed to break a set of mounts though.

I wouldnt say the A14 was torquey. But the rough idle of the cam felt rougher with the broken mount. (yes only passenger side mounts for me too, lifting side) And the only reason it really broke all these mounts was due to them been abit stuffed already and poorly aligned spacers to fit the a14.
