Hi everyone.
I did some research on this site and found a lot of interesting mods that can be done. I just got my car back from the welders.. yippy and now i can start thinking of Engine mods. Oh ya, Its a 120Y (B310) with an A12 in it
I dont want to change the engine yet. The objective of this car is to learn more about automotives. Most of the work Im gonna do by myself with the guidence of my dad.
I want to make a nice street car thats a daily driver but also has some grunt. Should have good low end torque and not necessarily a hi-rev-er. I think if it can make 6K easily, that should do.
Here are a list of stuff I plan to do. All the work will lead to the final stage which would be to turbocharge the car. ( I hope) The mods will take place slowly one at a time.
1. Cylinder head.
I read that a A14 cylinder would bolt right ON. Would this be better then porting out the current head? If I have to port it, how Big should I go? What about compression ratio? Having a A14 head would increase of decrease it? What about valve springs, What kinda springs would be stiff enough.
2. Intake/Carb
Would webers and SU's be the best way to go. I was thinking of a single 32/36. What do you guys recommend.
3. Exhaust.
An extractor and I tought of having 2 seperate pipes. 1 for each 2 cylinders. Has anyone done this?? I know it sounds wierd.
What would be a recommendable size. 1.75?
4. Ignition
The car already has a electronic distributor in it. Will the CDI make a bigger difference?
5. Turbocharging. (Still thinking wether to go forced induction)

A draw thru system. A TD25 ( is that right?) plus water injection without internal mods. Is it safe to rum 0.6 Bar? (about 10psi) or do I need to reduce compression? Do I have to mod the distributor's advance system?
Thanks in advance. Please feel free to give me more ideas on what can be done :) .
