Rev210, sounds the goods, can't wait to see a dyno sheet!! I will be posting mine up as soon as it is done. Mine is Geoffs old set up, with a hi-flow sigma turbo, with suck thru 1 3/4 inch su currently being rebuilt. The motor is ready to go in (just waiting on carby to come back) behind a 60 series smooth case in the Sunny.

Geoff, can't wait myself!! Had the turbo hi-flowed and the carby is being rebuilt. The lightened flywheel is being machined and I already have the ceramic button clutch to go in. Just the exhaust to go and then it will be terrorising the streets again!!

dog160,

An intercooler and fuel injection setup would be the very best thing to do for yours. Being able to apply 3D tuning to the motor will extract the very best out of the A series under boost.

Draw through is fine for the drags but, on a circuit intake temps are going to go through the roof and kill off alot of the power. You will find the first dyno run makes nice power but subsequent runs will be lower each time as heat builds. On the track it just gets worse.

Consider water/methanol injection kit if you are stuck with the carby setup to take the edge off the intake temps.

Hmmm... sounds like I may have to look closer at the Z18T I have at the back of the garage
Now Benny, you know not to tease the dog ........
It will only result in more work for me
Cheers

So far the a-series competitior the toyota 5k has made 156rwkws with 23psi and a to28.
I hope someone with an A cant match or outdo this figure reliably as that little 5k.

come on guys i wanted to see a15 power figure in here!!!

headworx @ Gold coast Qld have done well with a little a12...

it has a home made fuel injection setup with microtech and a gt28r ..
12psi made a datto gearbox breaking 190hp at the treads... on a conserative tune..

it now has a celica gearbox conversion with a crazy four puck clutch, full engine balance and a better flowing exhaust manifold... in the next month or so ill get u some better figures...

Rev 210, I know the suck thru set up isn't the best, but it is where I have to start. When this motor dies, then I will build an injected weapon!! We are going to mount the carby in behind the left hand headlight with a cold air box to try and negate the heat soak issue.
