Hi dog160,

cold air induction is a good thing. Won't help the heat soak one little bit I'm afraid.

At any rate the power added will be lots of extra fun.

mad bonnet scoops are good, do that anyway!

cool air goes into hot turbo charger ----> hot air comes out and goes into motor.

Need to cool down the pressurised air in the pipe coming out of the turbo before it gets into the motor.

75rwkw was the official figure on mine

that was with 10psi from less than 3000rpm

through a 1.75" exhuast

and running out of fuel at 4000rpm (later found leaky fuel reg)

with some inlet air leaks

since then fuel pressure is up, exhaust is mandrel 2.5" and hopefully now i have found all the air leaks

unfortunately with someone rear ending the old shell (one week after new exhuast) and the fact that i've killed a set of rings running 16psi just recently... i've only driven it for one week it in the last 6 months

i'd love to dyno mine again properly but im still playing with things, and a proper tune up will be $900

project put another block in (a14 this time) starts this weekend, then hopefully i'll build a 15psi capable a15 block on the side

Just because you gave up on the A-series. . .

If you feed it right. . .

Yep I agree, a decent hp a series turbo setup which is reliable is totally possible.

Getting it to the ground on the other hand could be fun... I was breaking 4 speeds with a bog stock a12

My turbo experience previously was a blow thru weber on a G180 Isuzu in a Gemini coupe. Never dynoed (wasn't a lot of dyno's in those days!) but was heaps of fun! Couldn't go more than 12psi as it turned the carby into a sprinkler Now I'll try the suck thru, and when R-fast makes my new injection manifold I can step up to bigger numbers.

i had a little trouble believing at first..
but after a ride i knew it felt pretty close to my old sr ute which had a lot more power..

if tuned and built right the A series @ 8 psi would be a reliable daily driver..
the driveline has to be modified to handle the extra power though...
