okay so i got my carby tuned about 3 months ago and it was running great, nice and responsive and no smoke. But lately i have been having a lot of troble with it running very rich. it is almost spitting fuel out the exhaust and the smoke from it has been very dark and getting progressively worse. I have played with the idle and fuel mixes but this made no obvious difference. i also took the carby apart and cleaned a lot of the old parts and it appears that this may have helped slightly. If anyone has any input on what they think may be causing this problem to my A15 then i would really appreciate it

have you checked the fuel level?
maybe its too high

maybe u need a new needle and seat? or the float has a hole?

Do you know roughly what should be standard fuel level? and what would be the best method of checking for air leaks in the floats? perhaps submerging them in water and checking for bubbles?

These parts are quite cheap from a carby specialist.
Visual check then try adjusting the level otherwise buy new parts.

sometimes debris gets into the needle and causes it to never close and suddenly run rich - give it a whack with the handle of a screw driver, that might un stick it if that's what it is, makes a sucking noise like a straw sucking from the surface of water - sort of spitting?

Other than this have you been having a good experience with the 32/36?

1st thing to check: Float level. Take the top off, turn it upside down and make sure the float hangs level. Carefully adjust it so it is level.

2nd thing. Warm up engine fully, remove top of air filter, and ensure the choke is 100% open. If it is even a little bit from open it will run very rich.

does the 32/36 have an automatic choke??

originally it had a water choke but didnt like the look of it so i decided to rip it off so i guess i still havent sorted out the float level properly, i have definently learnt a lot about this carby as all this has taken place though. Other than the running rich problem, its amazing, performance is great and fuel economy is also very good.

it just so much fun to drive

out of curiosity, what kind of fuel economy are you getting? my b310 gets 28mpg no matter how hard i drive it, but ...well, it'd be nice to be able to drive it a bit harder while not going bankrupt.
