I'm changing the timing belt on my Ca. But can't get the big bolt undone. in the front of the crank.

I tryed a rattle gun, next is a big pipe and a socket.
How can i hold the thing to undo it? i have no tail shaft in to hold it.

Any ideas please.

Hey there, Put your socket on the bolt with a long solid bar or ratchet, move it around till its resting on the ground on the left hand side (under the car). Turn the car over with one quick flick of the key. This should be enough force to undo the bolt. Make sure there is no one standing in the way that could get hit!!
Cheers. Adam.

Thanks, it worked great.

Not much left to do now.

I learn the bar against the passenger side chassis rail. Happy to hear it worked.

It is a magic technique.
