Anyone remotely interested in this stuff should go out and buy a book called "A breif history of nearly everything" By Bill Bryson.

It's a really interesting read and literally covers everything in an entertaining way. It's much more of a novel than a non-fiction book.

Another ripper if your that way inclined Daveman is "Guns Germs and Steel" by Jared Diamond. Discusses the history of the human race, and why the Europeans ended up kicking everyone elses arse. Good read too!

Sounds good, I'll go grab a copy soon.

On a similar sort of theme, a book called "the seven daughters of eve" I read a little while ago was good. It's about humans as a whole but mainly studying migration and origins of different races. This guy developed a revolutionary way of tracing ancestors through fossil's DNA. Did you know the mauri's of new zealand have only been there for about 1200 years, compared to our aborigines that have been here for about 40,000!

Sorry to hijack the thread guys.

The world is also getting heavier with all the #### we speak......
