yes that tail gate is really pissing me off,i showed a few guys at work to see what they thought and they said it looks ok,but i know its not 100 percent,
and yes i am taking every thing apart and yes i know how it all goes back together,

i can say that about 90 -95 percant of the car will have been stripped and rebuilt,
just about every bolt will have been touched, and when i say touch i mean either replace with new ,or given a full cleaning !!! so yeah,

heres a question from me now ,how is every one enjoying this thread??????just interested,i honestly thought id get more comments,,well i must keep going be back again soon,

mate don't be put off by the lack of reply to your post. I'm sure most of us are hanging on to see what you post next...

It's a very thorough and detailed thread that will most definately be inspiring others to get their hands dirty and have a go at some d.i.y. on cars of their own!

keep them coming... i'm enjoying this.

Man I would make a dodgy panel beater, 'cause that tailgate looks as straight as a dye to me. You are obviously a perfectionist, but hey thats the only way to be if you want to get something done properly.

It wont be hard to sell this ute because everyone can see exactly how much work has gone into it an the quality of work you are doing.

Keep it up, i'm lovin' this thread,
Mitchell

Hey evilbetty,

Love what your doing with the ute. haha I think by the time your done, Ill know a whole lot about utes, even tough I dont own one. I have been following your thread closely, and im sure i will learn alot. Thanks for sharing your information with everyone

I respect the amount of patience and drive you have to do every single piece. I tried painting my 120Y. turned out ok (for a 1st timer) altough I screwed up the Lacquire. My lack of patience and attention didnt help. hahahha. The painter said my compressor didnt have enough pressure. I agree with that. I love to do the same with my vehicle, BUT i lack the patience you have. Amazing man, amazing. It is inspiring.

Keep up the good work :)

Kodiak

well hay thanks guys i really appreciate your good comments ,at the start of this project it was going to be me and another painter and a panel beater doing all the work, that would have been good and take a hell of a load off me,but as things have turned out its all me ,and i have to say im really working hard,so to get good comments like those,is really great ,
like ive said before theres a hell of a lot more to come and will do my best to keep every piece photographed and put up along with a bit about whats going on,

this week end im hoping to paint quite a few bits and pieces so turn in sunday and i should have heaps more pics up of nice shiney parts !!!

this is a good one to follow becasue i am about to paint my ute. whenever i can be bothered to take it off the road and it is good to see what you have done to your ute. i am thinkin of a custom color as well but not sure as yet. i will also be doin my ute at work ( im a painter also but only apprentice) so it is good to see what you are doing and how you are going about it.
keep up the good work champion i will be following this right up untill hte end of the build. good luck with it
