Well it has the L16 fully installed and running now, just tidying it up and finishing a few little things off now. As for plans i hope to have it in a supersprint at mallala before the end of the year and start next year doing hillclimbs and supersprints, would also like to head up for the datnats too.

A few things of interest here.

The most obvious is the Sunny emblem in the grille, but the part that caught my eye is the three piece bumper. Most 1200 front bumpers seem to be the two piece type, but my coupe has a one piece front bumper.

I had not realised that there were three different ones before.

Do you like my orange parkers too? I found those on the weekend at u-pull it on a 120y! Sunny badge ive had for ages.

As for the bumpers, i have a one peice off my old coupe, Im getting that rechromed when i have some spare cash. I didnt realise there were 3 types though.

You got me there with the amber lenses. I did not see that at all.
As far as I knew, the 1200 & 120Y park/ blinkers light assemblys were the same except for the electrical connection. I have a 120Y light out in the shed with the white/ amber lens, so I wonder what cars originally used these ones that you have.

EDIT My sons 1974 model 120Y & the 120Y shown in the Sept. 1976 magazine ad both have white/ amber lenses. I wonder if your lights came into Australia in amongst those cantainer loads of Jap parts that were brought here in the late 70's & early 80's.

The JDM Datsun KB10 Sunny Coupe had amber lenses too.

I think it was a jap import one that never got the right lenses when complied.

As for them being the same, only the lenses will interchange because the backing plates bolt up slightly different ie. 1200's bolt to the apron but 120y's bolt to the bumper.

geez its only different bolt positions on the back plate that makes then different, apart from these being amber
