Ughh, that's gross. At $2 a tin for aerosol degreaser, I reckon that this is a $6 to $8 job.

Ill have a look on ebay and see what I can find.. thanks for the heads up, I wasnt sure what they where worth but thought it was to much. I know new turbo's have plumeted in price lately..

Yea the engine bay is a shocker, I dont think its ever been cleaned?? I only just brought the car about 2-3months ago. Paid $100 for it, put a battery in it and drove it away... even the AC works!?!? I spent $100 just to have the interior fully detailed so I can use it as a daily driver, it actually came up quite well...

You know how it goes, its one of those "go everywhere, doesnt matter what happens to it" cars. Suspensions soft and spongy, stereo works, heater and AC works, you dont get wet when it rains, if it gets crashed or stolen, its no huge loss... and most but not least, its a "never say die" A-series motor...

I think I sorted what I need... Subaru EJ20tt turbos...

They are a twin turbo 2litre, therefore 2 1litre turbos..?? Its exactly what im looking for... some may say it sounds perhaps a little small, but dont forget being carbie and locked dizzy, it most likley wont have the fantastic low down driveability of an EFI engine...??

I need to get my hands on one, have a look and where off! Does anyone know where there are any? Im happy to pay for them...

Hang on to that flange for the time being dog160, ill let you know if I need it, thanks for the offer

Thanks, when they have been put on A12-A15, do they run carbie or EFI? It makes a huge difference to driveability between the 2...

Where is the guy who has the turbo for sale?

I ended up buying a pair of turbos off a Subaru B4. Being they are off a 2litre they should be ok for a motor of around 1litre or so. Being I am using an A12 it should be good so as to boost up at low rpm hopefully... They where $150 for the pair, $75 each, cant complain about that price!

Here is a question for everyone... I have a std exhaust manifold off an A15 which is larger than the std A12... Should I use the larger one or stick with the A12 one for the purpose of the project??

Initially I was keen on using the A15 but now thinking about it, the inlet side of the exhaust housing is about 32-34mm... So may not be of any advantage to using the A15 manifold....?

I would like to say thankyou to Sidedraught (Andy) for the Hitachi Carbie, I received it today...

It has a lot more on it than the stromberg I used on my car, but I will sort out what is necessary and what isnt...

Thanks again Andy...
