Could some one please give me a step by step rundown on what needs to done and what parts i will need? I'll use the STD R31 Brakes for the moment but will upgrade them to R32 4 pots down the track.

Also would like to know exactly what needs to be done (springs, shocks)with the rear suspension to get the car to handle awsome. What actually works?

Cheers Kym.

from my testing this isnt a good conversion

you need to change the spring size to small diameter and then get adjustable strut tops

the stub axel angle on the R31 dosnt suit a early datsun without major mods resulting in positive camber

if you whish to do this conversion you would be better buying as a complete kit

but there are some positives to the conversion with tyre clerance, strut length

would be looking at getting a coil over kit, New springs ect.
Do you need to put longer sunny control arms or something in it to get the camber back to neg?
I also thought you have to cut the strut down and put shorter shocks in. Also got no idea bout steering arms and other stuff needed to do.
All info would be greatly appreciated. Just looking to gather as much as posible before i get started! Am open to suggestions.
The reason I was going with the R31 struts is due to the brake upgrades available.

Rock1200, this is what i have in my ute, i have photos in my album. You need late model 1200 or sunny control arms, You are going to have to run 38mm or 40mm off set wheels im using 17x6.5 inch 205x40 tyers with no scrubing at all. Steering arms i think are the 200B offset ones, you need to run them if your not going to use adjustable camber tops. it will have about 1.5 deg. camber, if you want more use adjustable tops. Spring seats need to be removed, and your best to run coilover set up. i can supply a set if needed $195. No the struts dont have to be shortend. Im using Magna disks with r32 4 spots, you need to use a slim bluebird hub, and mechine the disk to fit. I used a DATSPORT caliper mounting braket.
Its a lot of work but if done right you will end up with a great set up.

I have 15" TRX rims! will these fit?
Can I just run the Std brakes setup till I get som new ones?
So all I'll need is 200b steering arms, Sunny LCA and the coil over kit?
Can I use std brakes and std insert?

Kym

what tierod ends do you use with the 200b steering arms, as the hole is bigger than the stanza ones

need to use pretty much all the same lower stuff as the stanza swap, control arms and ball joints and stuff, can use stanza steering arms but they arent offset like the 200b ones so you have more positive camber(bad) but you can use stanza tierod ends

the only bigger tierods ends i have seen that would suit are too long as they are off rack and pinion steering cars

from what i can see you need:
stanza control arms, same as sunny
stanza balljoints
stanza or 200b steering arms
adjustably strut tops
smaller spring perch or coilovers
stanza tierod ends if you use stanza steering arms, ???? tierods if you use 200b

BigV , On the steering rod where the strut bolts to, you have the round lip between the bolt holes, in that the lower ball joint nut is, on the 200B ( if i have the right one ) the lower ball joint hole is off set, which will help with your camber problem, but as PIGDOG said the tie rod and ball joint tapered shaft holes are to big. As yet im unable to find any to fit, I have made tapered sleves to fit, they pull up real tight and never had a problem.

Rock1200, im using KYB r31 inserts and they work great. Not to sure about the TRX rims, i think they have a 22mm off set and are 6 inches wide, I think your wheels may stick out the guards.
