Datrats are the real thing in my opinion. Craigs stuff is good too, but Errol is the walking encyclopaedia of all things technical. His products aren't cheap for a reason though. Good quality parts cost dosh.
I agree that fitting small, light and effective brakes is important. But they've got to work. So using expensive brake pads is normally the hidden cost in going small. The same can be said for fitting larger 4 pot calipers from Skylines etc. For a street car. The cost of brake pads are important. For a sponsored race car..it's not so important.

well datrats can fit large 13s and 14s easly while maddats have to have 15s. maddats are 1300 while datrats are 1000. leaning towards datrats so that i can use legal size rims

if you want to go under a 14 inch rim the wilwood superlites are the go....I have them on my car and run 14 inch wheels. best brake by far in my opinion.

not only the best, but among the lightest and pads from street to full race are available and they're cheaper than performance pads for regular brakes.

the datrats brakes are no god for the street i got a set made up and after more than a year i have sent them back, they are made in such a way that uneed thick spacers like 30mm plus big studs to even get them on th car go with the maddat ones. the datrat brakes are very good dont get me wrong, and errol is a great bloke, but his brakes will not work on a street car.

Why the 30mm spacers? What rims were you fitting, fwd?
Patt, why not make some up yourself? I did my 280zx front struts for under $1000 including koni inserts, coilovers and 275lb springs, caliper seal kit and new rotors and pads.

i aint that mechically minded yet. so i prefer the datrat brakes because i could fit my 14s over them. 30mm spacers seem a lil over the top wat was the offset
