I know this may be an unusual question but I am still acquiring parts for my twin cam build-up and I need to know the approximate oil delivery of a standard Datsun pump eg. 1litre per minute at 1000 rpm (please state engine or pump speed).

If no one has this info I will sacrifice my pump (brand new) and post it here for those odd people like me that need to know these things.

Cheers

OOPS!!! Although any information regarding oil delivery would be fantastic a reading at a pump speed of 4000 rpm would be ideal

Thanks!!!

From my Technical Data, it is 50-60 PSI @ 2000 rpm

Thanks for that, but I am actually trying to find out the flow rate in litres per minute so that I can find a suitable external oil pump.

Maybe one of the engineers that frequent the site knows how to work out the flow from the pressure rating?

If it helps, the main gallery is about 6mm in diameter.

Cheers

I'm still working on that mazda twin cam conversion that we were dicussing in the "twin cam" thread a while ago, my current thinking is that a small hydraulic pump could possibly be used as an external oil pump to allow complete removal of the existing cam.

You could go dry sump and run a 3 stage pump driven off the crank pulley like I'm thinking of doing.

Yes, I meant to ask any news from your engineer?

unfortunatly not yet no
But I do plan on getting that dry sump pan from the states within the next few weeks.
Then I'm on the hunt for a 3 stage pump.
