hey guys

i see alotta people cut their radiator support at the front of the engine bay, is this illegal and wats the benefits of it

The benefit is so the engine and gearbox can be taken out/put in as one.
It is easier to bolt the gearbox up to the block outside of the car than it is to lying on your garage floor but it is only if you are doing a bigger engine conversion. But in saying that, I can take the SR out of my sunny with the gearbox attached and I haven't touched the rad. support panel.

I had a mate that put an sr20 in.. without cutting the front he lowered the body back on tho the front end

Thats how i did mine... well kinda :)

I lowered the engine into place, then took out xmember and steering, then bolted up box, and lifted back up. Pain in the arse :D

I made sure i had a new clutch in cos i dont want to have to do that again in a hurry
