4 or 5 stud

After having a thorough look at the Bathurst 1200 coupe in the Photo album, I noticed that the front wheel seems to have 5 studs. Is this true, or am I just seeing things? I only
ask this as that coupe is sitting perfect with what seems to be 15 inch wheels without even lipping the gaurds! Another question: was there ever a datsun model to have 5 wheel studs?

Datsun Cedrics and later Z31 and Z32 models are 5-stud. It certainly does look like that Bathurst car has 5 studs. They could be 14 inch Cedric
rims but what hubs? Eddie

Well I have a great set of wheels (V4 Simmons)
I bought them really cheap. Their stud pattern is four like the datsun, but they suit a ford laser, telstar meteor etc. and are the wrong offset. Looks like I will have to re-sell them!

Justin, If the hole diameter (PCD) of your wheels is not too different to your hubs, you can modify the wheel instead. The process is to drill out the holes in the wheel oversize and press
in a steel insert with the new hole in it. A guy I know had it done in Brisbane so he could fit 15" Magna wheels (4 x 110) onto a Charade (4 x 114.3). It only cost $25 per wheel. It doesn't help your offset problem but maybe you can use spacers. Barry.

Hi Barry,
yes the difference in stud spacing is really close! I'm going to look into it straight away to see if they can be drilled oversize. I think the offset will be just ok - i will need to use flares though. thanks, Justin. You can view topic.
