bigg, you talking about the Red 1200? It's a decent wiring harness, there are only two problems I noted:

- typical corrosion on the lamp sockets. That should be able to clean up fairly easy

- A ground problem (that we worked on, and seemed we fixed it). Symptoms: Some gauges worked, others didn't, but when you turn blinker, the dash lights came on (wrong lights), etc. It started working correctly when I pushed in the connector on the back of the dash.

Getting a new harness most likely won't solve a ground problem. It needs to be tracked down and taken care of.
