Hi guys,
Got my tailshaft fitted with new uni joints and all is well .
I now have a problem with the carby.
Just scored a complete sunny sedan and was wondering if the carby from that would fit

I was under the impression that the Sunny, 120Y and 1200 carby's were all pretty much the same things. They should all fit.
I think some of them might have a few extra wires on anti pollution hanging off them. But my guess would be yes...

Hi there possum.

The only main difference is that for the sunny B310 A12 engine carb you will need to run a wire from the batery + to the carburetor selonoid.

Use a fuse to protect this line or conect the selonoid to be controled by the ignition key.

This solenoid helps preventing auto-ignition when you turn the car off, because it cuts the fuel to the engine.

Theoretically. Just make sure the carb is tuned so it WILL NOT idle with the solenoid closed.

If you don't wire up the "anti-dieseling solenoid valve", the engine will not idle -- it cuts off fuel flow to the idle circuit.

If the solenoid fails or is not wired, you can make the car run by boosting the idle speed to around 1200 rpm, but it doesn't idle correctly. Just wire it up as designed.

the sunny carb is great once the solenoid is hooked up, i found it idles rougher with it not connected.
On the fully recoed one i picked up from pick a part for their $5 specials a couple of weeks ago, it came with larger secondary jet so it revs harder in the higher rpm range (i finally had time to swap them on tuesday).
Also i swaped the distributers and found that my old one was for an a14, so it was still graphed for an a14, causing my heasitation and ignition, stumbling problem (overfueling).
