you never know what they'll have left, might want to buy parts as you can afford em ( had 280zx struts for over a year before i made any progress on getting them installable )
if anyone wants to help out be letting us know if any of those parts won't work on an A15, feel free.
the basic theory is that as i said most of those things are all the same.
if your headbolts are stamped 13 then they're already GX - mine are, don't think you can't get any new ones that are non GX at this point.
unless you're boosted or running high compression, the metal head gasket may be more trouble than good. -why, i think i heard they need retorquing and work best with o-rings. the short was a standard engine doesn't need a super headgasket, and it's not going to increase compression that much.
lifters... anyone want to help? I was thinking of getting the light weight ones, I didn't - funny the nismo cam needs the oversize ones not the light weight ones.
I still think the yellow terra roller rockers are a benefit to all motors, but they don't seem to be used much. If you have double valve springs you need roller rockers.
perhaps better things to think about : Overbore what is a good amount to bore? 0.0030 over is common - there are some newer technologies for piston rings that may be beneficial too! looser bearing clearances - need thicker oil and more flow ( not pressure ) but make a looser motor less friction :) oil cooler - every A series needs one, a high stress one needs a cooler, temp regulator, big filter and check valve. Port matching: the ports and gaskets may not match up very well, matching them don't hurt.
weber 32/36: it's a good upgrade, but there can be complications { I miss that first week, the thing made such a noise it scared pedestrians on the sidewalk and made my neighbors complain about a noisy datsun (though there was a mini that made things rattle in the house at the same time ) }. 1.4 L is at the very bottom of the engines this works on, you can have issues with things that won't manifest on larger motors at all. I don't have a better recommendation, it worked fairly well for me other than the running on and backfiring thing. Never had these problems after loosing the 32/36 - and the second one was worse - simply because it was 'overhauled' doesn't mean it works properly. ( what can go wrong? secondary stick open slightly and make things go crazy at idle, fuel inlet can leak, microscopic bits of crap get in and plug up excessively small jets. Vacuum leaks around 40 year old shafts. )
