This is a thread about engine transplants, not that you could ever tell the difference, you just need any excuse to unjustly have another go at me, & like all good journalists, you never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.

Wahh wahh wahh. Get over it.

biggest engine swap I have done (actually my dad an I did it together) was a XA 250 2V - 170 horsepower well probably closer to 200 as it was/is bored out to the max (+60 thou) and had a 350 holley...into a very rusty XD falcon ute...

did 120 Km/h VIOLENT fishtails on gravel...

rod hadfield's '55 chev produces 3,000 horsepower... it's one of the last rolls royce merlins made...

The most power that a factory Merlin ever produced was 2,780 hp at 36 lbs boost in 1945 & even then it was a 'special' running on fuel with monomethyl aniline added. I doubt that Hadfields engine excedes this.
After the war the engine was redesigned & strengthened for freighter use [the 600 series] & these developed a lot less power but were run for far longer periods both in the air & between overhaul.
If he has one of the last engines, then he has one of these freighter engines.

I don't think that even the larger Datsun pickup models could so much as carry one of these monsters home, let alone accomodate one in the chassis.

Hello, dodgeman. Long time no see. Well, the biggest engine I have seen in a car is a Chevrolet ZO6 engine in a Mazda RX7 FD. That engine fills up the entire engine bay. It came out in Sport Compact Car November 2006 issue as one of the entries to the Ultimate Street Car Challenge.

The Blastolene cars are similar to the Merlin '55 Chevy, but the Blastolene cars are all hand fabricated roadster types. Not sure what the motors were originally used in, but they are large displacement V12's.
