by BigDane on 2007/1/21 21:14:07 Cheap? An LSD, a 5spd gearbox, forged pistons, new camshaft, roller rockers, a weber carby AND a rebuild all for $3500 doesn't sound too bad....sure I might be about to do done a little cheaper but the pistons/camshaft/rockers/carby/LSD would have to come somewhere closer to $3000 at least! Quote: I reckon that's far too expensive for the rebuild. In regards to results.. but dattodude is correct in $ for results $3500 for 90hp atw is probably a bit rich. - Unless you particularly wanted to keep the original motor.

Find an A15 then give your mate the A15 , the car and the $3500, get him to do all the same things but with the A15 instead of the A12, if he can do all the things he says he can you will have a great car.

The modifications are so minor your mechanic will be able to do them with his eyes shut, with the mods you are talking about the A15 motor will produce at least 120 HP , more than enough to spin the wheels of your 1200.

Yeah get some rego on the thing with the standard motor then go for an A15. As for the turbo setup Iv had a draw thru setup on my A15 for almost 7 years its so simple and once you got the turbo would cost less than 500 bucks to build.

i live in perth, but to register the car first means i would have to repair the existing motor which is a waste of time, its pretty rooted lol. when gettin registered how strict are they, what sorta stuff do they check?
