Howdy, I'm planning soon on picking up an ex race car prepped 1200 Coupe and swapping the complete running gear with my B310 Sedan, I can't really see this being a problem - already sorted mounts for the A15 into the 1200 but I'm concerned about fitting the 1200 engine, (not worried about the 5 speed fitting) and the rear axle assembly - are there any viable issues?

Cheers Bud

The rear axle will be a fun one.
Its like a 4 link set up with a coil, not leaf sprung like the 1200

Check it out

The original 1971-1973 A12 engine block has different mounting points from A15.

So you'll need to get that fixed up to fit an old A12 into a B310. Kind of the reverse of the A15-into 1200 mount treatment. I doubt if many of us have done it.

well I actually wont me swapping the diffs out of them. The thing about the 1200 coupe is that its been fully raced prepped (910 struts, suspensions, 4 pot brake conversion, think it may have an H150 Diff, sparco seats, 6 point cage) The only thing is that its been offered to me after I've just about finished working my A15 B310. Mounting the A12 into the B310 shouldn't be a hassle - they're only mounts. Only real concern I've got is if the driveshafts are going to need replacing - one wouldn't imagine so if there is the appropriate diff in the coupe. I just need to be able to do the reverse transplant in order to keep the coupe.

Tailshafts are different, but are the same length as is the transmission. I don't expect any dramas in that regard.

So does that mean the 5spd and A12 box wont match up with driveshaft/tailshaft of the B310 Diff?
