I made a very sturdy steel strut brace for my old coupe. Could not feel the difference when I fitted it at all - either before or after the cage went in. Its the only "suspension" mod I've ever done that had zero effect. And I've done silly little things at the track like loosening rear sway bar link pins 2 turns to help correct an oversteer problem - and you can notice something as small as that!

Strut braces? can't hurt, but probably don't help much either!

mine took off .75 of a sec on the quarter mile!

no but seriously... rally cars have tended to cave in at the front over time due to small jumps encountered

so in that case the are very helpful

otherwise what other people have said, aguable amount of stiffness added to front

Funniest thing I have felt is when riding as a passenger in my car at Wakefield Park - when cornering HARD, I could feel the floor flex near the firewall Booong - floor pops up, then booong - floor pops down! Really weird I also agree with the 'opening' door frames when cornering ..... could hear the wind whistling through it on a windy day at Wakefield

Our cars are old and most of us have boosted the power and stiffened the suspension to some degree so I think anything that helps improve the chassis rigidity has to be a good thing.
