gday dato family just bought my first dato what is my temperature serpose to read its getting to nearly 200 is that ok ive noticed it dose drop to 185 but when on a staight.cheers

If your guage reads in farenheit, as it seems it does, then the thermostat should be set to a nominal 180 degrees. If the engine normally runs higher than this, then either the guage runs a bit high, or your cooling systen could benefit from a little attention.

My stock 1200's cooling system is up to new car specs & the needle stays right in the middle on even the hottest days, even at highway speeds.

Hi Brado, those temperature are OK, and pretty common for it to vary like that.

The engine can run all day at 200 degrees (close to "H" mark), but it is "best" to run at 180 degrees.
