what a funny post, keep it up guys, how are you going to change compression on the A14, pistons or combustion chamber?

Hahah, I can definately see why it would seem a funny post. However it ####s me, because you get people POST on threads to which they believe are stupid posts in the first place? Go figure. Why not just ignore them? Who knows. Anyhow looking at lowering compression through a fabricated decompression plate to use existing (reconditioned) pistons, and increasing the boost. That way I can remain using original gear, whilst not risking detination - As I have cracked many a crank from increased compression or too much boost

there is a dude here who runs like 30psi with stock internals.
going on what he says, its all a-ok

What sort of engines were you using? Crank failures on a series, are like honest politicians: almost unheard of!
Now broken ring lands are much more common.

don't lower the compression use better fuel!

;)

In both instances it was using a big block forced induction chev. When i say cracks i mean fractures. Practically, you could still use for VERY mild street use - but any more and your risking a big bottom end failure. This was a direct resultof detination and irregular combustion - all on high octane fuel. It was mainly the increased compression. In terms of using better fuel- that's fine, but when you think most fuel stations offer 98-99 octane as their premium fuel..... And I really don't want the hassles of having to use octane boosters

Chev stuff is complete garbage. No wonder you had problems.

Hahaha, yes well I was almost expecting that. To be onest we were running some incredible strong bottom end internals, but the detination and incomplete combustion plays havocon the crank. It just warps, and hen whn it cools down develop fractures (apparently). It was more a case of some greedy owners looking for quick horsepower . But in general you'll ind its tough to break Chev parts- you'd be surprised

At risk of being totally on topic here. a14 internals is good for I'd say anything up to 10PSI,

Drop the compression with a sandwiched shim-plate 0.9mm thick, and then use Langley pistons, and you can go all the way up to 16PSI on pumpgas and still run descent timing....
or 20PSI on something a bit better,

here is my block, this is however an A15, so I had to do some work on the pistons, As they stuck out through the deck, them being for the 1400... these pistons are not forged but they are damn strong for not being forged, As first I was skeptical...

Very Nice 3Rotor. Turbo would have to be one of the best ways to set-up an A series engine these days not just sound and peformance. but worked webber engines just don't keep up anymore.
Also i have heard Nissan Exa Factory turbo pistons go straight into A series block and handle a bit of boost. For that set-up were forgies are out of budget.

So what sort of power output would you expect from this little baby?
