@sidedraught

That is why I wrote in a previous post the following:

Go with the engine that is currently in it according to your specs and give the guys with larger engines some hastle.

Nothing as nice as people at a drag race standing and not believing the time posted by a car because they think the engine is too small. I know of a drag race event here where I live of a guy with a 325iS BMW that had some work done to the engine.
This guy would beat even turbo engined cars. Why? His responce times were excellent. While the turbo guys were struggling with grip to get off the line AFTER they responded late aswell he was already gone and in second gear gathering speed. That is why I think his car will perform very well for it's engine size.
After all, it's about the fun he is going to have. He will have a A14 engined car, but will also have his class to compete in.
I am positive that it will post very good times for it's engine size.
My guess will be in the high 15 second to low 16's bracket.

I know i wont be the fastest guy on the track but if i can run good times
and beat a few guys with 1.6/1.8/2.0L cars hey who knows maybe even a v6/v8 on a good day
If i post a time on and i improve on that as time goes on thats what i would like the most!

You WILL be faster than 1600 cars.
Ok, it depends on what they have done to their cars, but you will definately give them hasstle. Just look into the gearbox and maybe the diff aswell. They are not going to handle the abuse very well.

Is there a big diffence in the internals of the 4 and 5 speed boxes except for the ratios.
The car guy used a 4 speed for the ratios alone.
Will a 5 speed with 4 speed 1st,2nd,3rd,4th last better and can it be done?

I wouldn't be able to say exactly, but I've heard numerous rumors that the local 5spd boxes are a little frail compared to the 4spd ones. So if the internals fit, it should be an improvement.

Have you considered fitting a stronger Toy box or one tonner box with adapter plate?

No not really, do you think that could be the answer?
DO you know how there ratios compere or can you change it?

I doubt the gears are interchangable and I doubt you will gain much more strength.
The money you will spend doing it you might as well buy a cressida gearbox with adapter bellhousing and fit it. Those things are damn strong.
OR, don't you want Minnesh's number?
He has a Toyota box behind his A14 and can give you all the info like:
Is it holding up to the hard launches?
How to fit it?
Let me know and I will PM his number for you.
