Some recent pics for an update...
The car picked up a few scratches and ding while fitting the new rear axle so Steve decided to two-tone the ute. Back from the paint shop (for the 3rd time!) ![]() ![]() ![]() Shot of the intercooler. It won't be visible at all when the truck is done. ![]() And he should be able to fit some decdent rubber under there... May be tubbing the rear to fit even more... ![]() When making a new trans tunnel, it helps to have no windshield and to be 6'3". ![]()

Did I read that right, he's gonna run 400hp with only 8s on the back?
There's enough room under that rear to go at least 10s, how about 12s even. Now that would really set it off.

Size is not set in stone yet, just depends on how much he plans to widen the wheel tubs.

Some more progress pics...
He opened up the grill for more airflow, but since the IC will be anodized black, it will look fairly stock from 5-10 meters away. ![]() Modified the stock core support top to be removable... ![]() Yet another custom intake manifold... I think this is his third? ![]() Overall view... ![]() Here you can see where the middle of the firewall is being moved back about 6-8cm... ![]() He's basically building a whole new tunnel from scratch. In progress photo... ![]()

Oh, once he got it in there where he wanted, we figured out that if you just install the shifter backwards it fits just fine. Takes a minute or so to get used to shifting it, but no worries.
