Yesterday i was out at the local pik-a-part (wreckers) and i was looking around for a suitable radiator that i can use for my worked a15.
Im going to make new mounts onto so the extra width doesnt bother me.
ANYWAY,i went looking for a n13/14 pulsar/sentra, found one and then kept looking.
i saw about 7 different nissans with suitable inlet/outlet placement, even a freaking praire had a radiator that looks like it could work(had twin cooling fans aswell).
Now my question, why dont people use these for there dattos if they have the inlet/outlet in the right place.
The only reason i can think of it that they would probably have a different diameter meaning a hosing might have to be screwed around with for a while for it to work.

Could anyone shed light one this?

Any radiator shop can change the outlet necks to the correct diameter. While youre at it have the tanks whipped off and the cores rodded out. I've had a few rads which were nice and tight in the fins, but the cores were near blocked solid.

sweet, so is there any other reason why people always recommend the n13/14 radiator when there are tonnes of other nissan radiators that seem to be very very similar?
If there really is no reason, i will go and measure up the widths length and height of a few nissan rads at the local and post em up.

Ive just been going through the radiator book from work over and over again trying to find a rad to suit a 1000. Very very few.

The reason so many people go with N13 rads is because their are cheap and alloy. And i guess they are a great size and work effectively. You'll just have to measure em up and see what is cheapest!

I always recommend a B210 or B310 radiator. Some bolt straight in, yet are larger. Others are larger still and bolt in one side, using simple flat brackets to bolt in the other side.

ohk sweet as. well when i go to get my radiator i will measure up the radiators and note the models they come out of for everyone.

Can anyone tell me how much clearance there is between a standard a15 radiator and an a15 (without water pump fan) so i can see if the ones at the yard will fit with their standard twin fans.
The sweet thing with pik-a-part is that all radiators cost the same regardless of what they are out of. you just have to remove them.

some of the other nissan radiators are a little wider and deeper than the n13/14 ones. the n13/14 one from the pulsar just squzeez between the chasisrails, some people even had to shorthen the bumper bar bolts to fit them properly.

also some are crossflow not top to bottom flow which will not work weel for the a series engines.

One good thing though is that nissan used similar core sizez and combinations to reduce costs across a varied selection of vehicles, so its not all badnews.

just double check the measurements and make sure it fits. if theres a 120 thore, dummy fit it for clearance at the wreckers too.

the only bad thing with them is the plastic top and bottom tanks. prone to cracking with age.
