anything is possible with a correctly setup turbo engine. The renault F1 turbo engines had a 1500hp output in qualifying trim. They were a V6 1.5 litre engine....
Yes I would like to see another dyno and also was this test done in second gear? If so would that make a big difference knowing that all the dyno tests Ive done have been in 4th gear???

Thats impressive, congratulations...

My A12 turbo made 100kw atw (about 135hp) on 12-13lbs... My motor was stock and had done about 400,000ks except for new rings and A14 head, but I ran a suck through SU set up...

I could see that more HP would be possible with more boost, EFI, intercooler, etc but wouldnt have thought that much... Well done, Im envious of the HP figure... not the cost though

One of the methods Renault used was massively overrich a/f ratio. Black smoke trailed the car around the track. And then they had to rebuild the engine. That was in 1986 if I remember correctly.

The "small amount of headwork" stated in the original post most likely means "$7000 worth of headwork". For one thing, fitting larger valves is not classified as "small amount of headwork".

While we don't doubt the 240HP from an A12, we remain sceptical until run on a different dyno. Every dyno varies, let's see what another one says. That was probably uncorrected for altitude, humidity and air pressure.

The way I understand it even on the same dyno if the traction setting (weight) is wrong it will be off.

I dont think its the figure so much that matters, rather how it compared to the other cars there on the day. But the figure sure is impressive!

Agree! Only way to judge dyno figures
