having messed around with a couple of turbo A series engines, I'm very impressed that a stock A12 piston managed to survive even one dyno run at 18psi!

Thats pretty insane. Test it on another dyno and let us know the results though, because that is a lot of power for a 1200. I didn't even think the head could deliver enough air to make that sort of power. If that hp figure is accurate than I would really love to know what parts and work went into that engine cuz...well...wow!

That's more power than lots of the CA18 conversions are making. Does this make this conversion obsolete? I don't think so, how many millions of gearboxes will it go through? How much midrange torque will it have? how many bottom ends will he go through?

It really has got everyone thinking about that tired old 1200 in their car though hasn't it???

it was done in third gear.. 4th would be better due to the 1:1 ratio but it would not go in after the tuning done on friday....

it was a dyno comp!!!
with two new dyno dynamics dynos...

i saw it make 195hp on the dyno last year with a a14 and a blow through carby turbo setup... it then cracked a piston

. The only way to make more is to pressurize the engine (18 lbs boost is a lot, over two atmospheres). .

Hows 18psi more than 2 Bar?

Sorry, I didn't mean 2 bar boost, I meant the cylinders were under 2 bar pressure. 0 boost is atmospheric pressure (14.7 lbs). Then add another 18lbs of boost.
