cheers for that mate good to know some one can use there imagination ,as for the market for something like this well i have no idea ,at the start i said i was building this ute and doing a bit of custom work to it and then selling it on to some one who was after something that has had all the back bracking ,very expensive labour and materials already done for them all they have to do is pay and drive away ,also ive always wanted to do a datsun ute so thats what im doing now,it may sell straight away it may not either way im not too worryed becasue i would have clearly done what i set out to do,
cheers mate keep reading ill keep posting

Has anyone tried using MSPaint before?? Thats the most awesome thing I've ever seen come out of it. It's an absolue dog! It must have taken ages.

ahh ha some one that knows!! yes that very ruff dodgy looking sketch did take a long time to scribble up,i wasnt going to try and do some sort of super art work or anything like that ,because i can scribble something down on a bit of paper and build it ,with out any real details i can just see what it would turn out like,so basicly i did the little ruff thing on paint so that i could post it up here and maybe people would have a better understanding of what i was looking at doing,
cheers for the comment glad you are enjoying the updates ,should be more next weekend ,soon i will be fitting a full hard cover as produced by one of the members on here so should be pretty interesting !!!.....

you did ask for opinions, so don't be too quick to say negative feedback and take offense when people are just being honest with you and expressing their personal opinions.

I don't mind it. I know if it was my car i'd make it removeable. Undo a couple bolts and the whole thing kinda slides out some how. That way you can still have the best of both worlds. At least with it in you could hide the battery in there somewhere too... maybe an extra one for when the stereo cranks up for a while.

Oh, and what about a built in esky some where in there too? Then it would be the ultimate party machine

Loving the progress too! Its always a buzz to see this thread on the main page. Certainly has come a long way! keep up the good work

as much as i dont like the subs idea i do like the idea of it being a "BEER UTE" with a nice fat as esky/fridge....

on the sub idea my car is pretty much all show and no go, but you still want to be able to use it. i had one massive sub now i have changed to two smaller ones that sit closer to seat and allow more room in boot. what i am getting to is there nothing wrong with a sub or two in the tray but it a bit overkill to deck the whole tray. put a small twin box under window with port holes into cabin. simple yet effective.

ok thanks for everyones input ,but i have decieded to continue with the idea ,
the subs are 2 10 inch subs so its not like they are massive things any way ,and this is a ute that you would take to shows or use as a weekender so ,you wouldnt be puting gravel in the back in fact you probably wouldnt be putting much inthere even tho there still will be some room ,
as far as im concerned if the new ower dosnt like the custom work or having subs
he/she can remove them its pretty simple ,

if you are starved for spave like all 1200 utes have you considered a bass engine (I dont know too much about them but they save a fair bit of room while giving you a good amount of bass)

the pioneer pankake series also works well, the 8" and the 10" can be ran in 'free air' no enclosure needed and the enclosure size if to be used is approx the same size ans the box the sub comes in.. they work well.
and evilbetty. if i painted my ute in a flat black 2 pak could i mix in a purple pearl in witht the final coat to get a flat black car with a heavy purple pearl?

hay there mate, sorry cant help you with that part number all i know is they fit an old ford cortina, best so go to bursons and get them to go thru there books,as for the pearl,
you want flat black with pearl????????????thats a new one, well personaly mate i wouldnt try that as you could end with a bit of a mess, you could spray 2 pak black and then put a coat of clear over the top with pearl in it how ever you would have to know what you are doing as you have to spray the clear very even or it too wont turn out that well, for this i would sugest using a base coat system ,that is paint it basecoat black with matting base in it(mating base is a product that will take the gloss out of the paint ,)then paint a layer of pearl over the top of that ,then clear it with 2 pak clear with mating base in it also ,a bit of a stuff around ,why are you after a flat finish???it would be alot easyer for you if you go full gloss .easpecialy for pearls, good luck with what ever you decided on
