i dont know.. i just wole up this morning with a image in my head of a flat black 1200 ute thrashin through the hills with a ca noise, and everytime it passed under a streetlamp it glistened purple...and had bronze volk style wheels.. iv never seen it done before and it looked awsome im my head.. just something different, to stand out in the croud.
so i still have to put a clear over the flat black? can the pearl still go in the 2pack clear with the matting agent? is it possible to do this? it would look mad!

hahaha well great image !!,yeah you could still put the pearl in the clear along with the matting base ,but you would have to add quite a bit of pearl to get the effect your thinking of,also the spraying will have to be done by some one who knows about pearls, othere wise it will end up with alot of lines r stripps rather than an over all pearl colour ,if your going to do it your seld i sugest you do a test panel first to see the effect before going blasting on to your ute!!!!there is another way and that is
putting the pearl in to the black base coat and adding matting base ,then clearing it with the clear and matting base mix ,but once again you need to be pretty good on the end of a gun

ok well pretty happy this morning, after this weekends work got a bunch of pics to show of the rear end, basicly last week i had repaired and moded the rear end ,removal of the handles bumpers etc,so this week end i done a double putty ,sanding the hole lot back fixing small bits and bascily getting things looking alot better,
pretty happy with the turn out, things line up well ,looks reasonably straight also ,so here the pics ..............

first the tailgate finished on the stand ........

looks good mate. but one question. your not going to keep those latches on there permanantly are you? or are you going to use another system?
ive heard that the system out of a commodore ute type system works well with the handle on the inside of the gate

not sure yet ,what im doing there ,probably stay at this stage no need to do any more moding as the hard cover covers the hole lot any way so they wont really be seen ,ive heard alot of different ways to do it but havnt seen or been shown a step by step with pics so until i do i probably leave them ,
